1. Thread gun - Wool Rug Study
In this textile method, I worked with a fabric canvas and a thread gun- something I had never tried before, the process required holding the thread gun perfectly horizontal against the canvas while apply enough pressure working upward to create a tightly woven line. At first it was a new feeling and the thread did not have the right amount of pressure to stay but the more I did it the bigger my lines got. Since this technique was new to me, I practice by completing three lines before assisting other students.
2. Thread Weaving
In this textile method involved using thread, a needle, a comb, and a weaving rack. The process began with vertical threads already set on the rack, and I wove horizontal threads in and out of them. I had to carefully guide the thread with a needle while using the comb to press each row snugly into place. I completed the top blue section, weaving about an inch. This was a new experience for me, but I enjoyed the process.
